The Rockford, IL area is full of the usual fare, good food, great shopping, but it even has some surprises in store. There’s the Anderson Japanese Garden full of 12th century-style gardens with paths, pools, streams, lanterns, pagodas, and waterfalls. Doesn’t that sound peaceful after a long day of work? If you’re looking for a bit of history, 65 million year old history to be exact, then you’ll want to go see Jane. Jane is the oldest T-Rex and can be found at the Burpee Museum of Natural History. Otherwise, there’s the Forest City Queen Riverboat. Onboard you’ll get to see some of the most stately homes on the banks of the Rock River as well as hear some of the beginnings on the river.

Rockford is also full of fun and exciting things to do for the entire family. Kids will love the Discovery Center Museum which is full of more than 250 hands-on art and science exhibits. During the summer months, your family will love Volcano Falls Adventure Park. There you can play miniature golf, test your skills in the batting or soccer cages, and race around on the Go-Kart track. If you need to beat the heat then Magic Waters Waterpark is the place. They have several different slides, a 707,000-gallon wave pool, SplashMagic River, and Little Lagoon for the little ones. During the winter months you’re not going to want to miss the Harris Winter Wonderland. This is a 12,000-square-foot ice rink for the entire family to skate and have a good time. They also have a concession area with hot chocolate, apple cider, hot dogs, and more.

At Nurses PRN, we understand becoming an agency nurse or changing agencies can be intimidating. We’re here to make the process go smooth and painless. We’ve been supplying healthcare facilities such as Kishwaukee County and DeKalb County with nurses for several years. We’ve established relationships all over the industry, so no matter if you’re an RN, or LPN looking for a part-time Telemetry (TELE) position, or a per diem ICU position we can find the right opportunity for you.

If you’ve narrowed down the specialty of your choice such as REHAB, TELE, or Med Surg, but are just not sure which style of job best fits your lifestyle, just let us know. The three different styles of work to choose from are per diem (supplemental), contract, and permanent. Not sure which one is right for you keep on reading, otherwise our recruiters are great listeners who work with you to find the right position that brings you long lasting success and satisfaction.

Per Diem (Supplemental)

Originally – per diem staffing was the bread and butter of Nurses PRN. It was a way for RNs to pick up additional shifts through supplemental staffing. This on-call style of work brings nurses extra income when the available shift fits into their schedule. In this industry, it’s not uncommon to see an influx of shifts come through quickly… for example, we staff many emergency rooms (ER) and you never when a huge influx of patients will come through the door, creating a high demand for our nurses. Even Medical Surgical (M/S or Med Surg) floors, Long-Term Care facilities, or Intensive Care Units (ICU) can experience several call-ins or unforeseen issues, creating a need for our agency nurses. Per diem or supplemental work offers great flexibility for our RNs.

Contracts offer stable, guaranteed hours for the length of the contract, which usually ranges between 4 and 13 weeks. This style is great for nurses who need to maintain a full set of hours and/or benefits. Our contract work has a variety of opportunities, and we are driven to combine the right specialty with length to fulfill the exact specifications our RNs give.

Permanent RN jobs are also something Nurses PRN specializes in. We have a dedicated permanent placement team committed to finding full time nurse positions, if that is what our candidate are looking for. Every healthcare system is in need of strong leadership and full time managers, our focused permanent placement team assists the facilities in finding the right individual to fit the need.

No matter the style of work, the specialty, or if you love working for Mercy Walworth or Fair Haven, our recruiters here at Nurses PRN are ready to help.  Give us a call or send us an email so we can start finding and matching you to the opportunity that works best for you.
