We understand that becoming an agency nurse or changing agencies can be an intimidating experience. At Nurses PRN we are determined to make the process smooth and painless. First of all – let’s discuss our partner facilities. We’ve been in staffing in Wisconsin for more than 15 years, so we’ve established relationships all over the industry. Whether you’re looking for a part time operating room job, a per diem ICU job or an RN position to supplement your current career – we have the right opportunity for you… whether the opening is waiting for you or whether we have to hunt down the right facility to accommodate your ideal position – we’ll do it.

Sometimes we hear that agency nurses are more concerned with the type of facility they will be working in rather than the style of job (per diem, contract, supplemental or permanent). Because we have roots in this area, our facilities include local hospitals and nursing homes that range in size from small to large. Appleton Medical Center, ThedaCare, Theda Clark, St. Elizabeth's, Affinity and all systems in between have great experiences to learn from and grow with.

In addition, we often face nurses who know what type of specialty they want – maybe it’s L&D, TELE, Med Surg or possibly an occupational health position (OccHealth), but they are uncertain of what style of job would best fit their lifestyle. Our recruiters are trained to listen to their nurses and assist them in choosing the right path which will bring satisfaction and success. The styles of agency careers include: per diem (supplemental), contract and permanent.

Originally – per diem staffing was the bread and butter of Nurses PRN. It was a way for RNs to pick up additional shifts through supplemental staffing. This on-call style of work brought nurses extra income when the available shift fit into their schedule. In this industry, it’s not uncommon to see an influx of shifts come through quickly… for example, we staff many labor and delivery floors (L&D) and considering the sporadic nature of that unit – our nurses are in high demand. Yet even the more planned floors of a hospital see an unexpected census increase. The Medical Surgical (M/S or Med Surg) floors, Intensive Care Units (ICU) or pediatric units have call-ins or unforeseen issues where an agency nurse is needed. Per diem or supplemental work offers great flexibility for our RNs.

As the industry of supplemental staffing evolved – we picked up more contracts positions for our nurses. Contracts usually range between 4 and 13 weeks and offer stable, guaranteed hours for the length of the contract. Our contract work spans the gamut when it comes to opportunities. From Occupational Health Nursing positions to PICU jobs, we are driven to combine the right specialty with length to fulfill the exact specifications our RNs give.

Permanent RN jobs are also something Nurses PRN specializes in. We have a dedicated permanent placement team committed to finding full time nurse positions, if that is what our candidate is looking for. Every healthcare system is in need of strong leadership and full time managers, our focused permanent placement team assists the facilities in finding the right individual to fit the need.
